Spray Foam Insulation
SPRAY FOAM PROVIDES HIGH R-VALUE & AIR SEALING
Spray polyurethane foam, or SPF, is one of the most effective and high performance insulation materials on the market. Closed-cell spray foam provides extremely high R-value-per-inch and is perfect for applications where space is limited.
Spray foam insulation is installed with a spray foam gun. It combines two separate components at the tip of the gun, resulting in a chemical reaction that expands the material to tightly fill building cavities. There are two types of spray foam insulation: open cell spray foam and closed cell spray foam, each of which has certain benefits. Open cell spray foam is less expensive and offers many of the same benefits including high R-value, durability and air sealing. Closed cell spray foam has a higher R-Value and the added benefit of vapor protection.
The benefits of spray foam insulation include:
Closed Cell Foam seals against air movement and vapor transmission.
Closed Cell Foam has the highest R-value of all insulation products at R7+ per inch.
Open Cell Foam blocks air movement.
Open Cell Foam is more cost effective depending on the application.
Open Cell Foam has a higher R-value than Cellulose or Fiberglass at R4.2 per inch.
Soundproofing - Spray foam is a top performing sound blocker.
